Hey Momma, You Matter

Today thousands of people will march for life. They will rally, and cheer, and hold signs that promote adoption, love, and the protection of innocent babies’ lives. They will be a visual of the awesome things God is doing in thousands of hearts.

But I want to remind you today that the celebration for life is not just about babies. It’s also about you. Each day we too focus on our precious babies as we feed them, bathe them, love them, hug them. You know that they matter. You know that it’s hard to go a moment without thinking about your kids and what they need because they matter. But sometimes, in our children’s needs, we forget how valuable we are too. Today I want to remind you that you matter too momma.

When you are sweeping up a whole box of spilled cheerios on the floor that you just cleaned, you matter. When you are up at night nursing and you feel like a human baby bottle, you matter. When you look at yourself in the mirror and all you see is “mommy”, you matter. You are not just mommy; you are a chosen child of the heavenly Father, chosen to do His kingdom work in your homes, with your kids, at your job, right now in this moment. You are doing His kingdom work by looking at yourself and seeing a masterpiece made by His hands and glorifying his name in thanks.

As those thousands march down the street and fight for life, remember the One that fought for yours. He fought so hard that he gave his own life because YOU MATTER.
