And That's Enough!

“…the Bible tells me so!” After about the third round of Jesus Loves Me, I started again but was interrupted by a sweet little voice in the back seat of the van. She sang, “Jesus loves me, and that’s enough!” I know that what she meant was, “I don’t want to sing anymore, and I don’t want you to sing either.” While I was a little disappointed that she was done jamming out, I couldn’t help but notice that what she actually said meant so much more.

“Jesus loves me, and that’s enough.” Can I get an Amen? Enough to cover the bad mommy moment you might have just had; enough to provide you with much needed patience; enough to expel any thoughts of inadequacy, that you’re not doing a good job compared to this organic mom or that stay at home mom, that you can’t possibly fill all the needs and expectations of your kids, husband, boss, parents… None of those things determine your worth. Let his love dismiss any of those feelings. At this moment release them and fill yourself up with truth. You are valuable and perfect because you are made by a God who gave his life for you because he loves you, and that is enough!
